back from a long break....
Hi guys, well i haven't really been so active here for several reasons, first I am not so good at writing (which i honestly admit...i'm better at math equations than this. LOL) and second, I've been busy with college (i just graduated...hooray!) and now I'm looking for a job.
Anyways. I took some pictures of items I've bought over the past months and just do a quick review in them. I will add swatches later as right now my camera phone isn't giving me good pictures.
Well, it's good to be back :)

Sephora Perfecting Cover Foundation Review
For about a month now, I have been using the Sephora Perfecting Cover Concealer in 30 Sand. And I really liked it! It covered my acne scars and dark circles, its very creamy and it doesn't cake at all. But I thought that maybe getting their foundation would make me use less of the concealer, since I have a lot of acne scarring. So when I went back to Sephora I bought their Perfecting Cover Foundation in the same shade, 30 Sand since they told me the colors correspond to each other.
Unfortunately, I'm was disappointed in it. I returned it after a week of using it.
CONS:
- It turned orange on my face after a few (10-15) minutes of application. (It oxidized? I don't know, when the concealer oxidizes on my face it actually blends in and it doesn't stand out. This one did, I could tell that my face looked different from my neck. And yes, I blend the foundation down to my neck.)
- It has this scent, I have no idea how to describe it but it really annoyed me when I put foundation around my nose. (The concealer has the same scent but its A LOT fainter)
However, it has its good points too.
PROS:
- It stayed on my face for about 8-9 hours without retouching (I have oily skin and I use about 5-6 blotting papers/day ).
- I find it easy to blend.
- It has this natural finish, not too matte or not too dewy.
- Coverage is really good. (Main reason why I got it!)
- Didn't made me breakout. (Oily skin = Acne prone skin)
- Its inexpensive. (kinda, as a college student I'm on a tight budget ) (22$)
- It comes in a pump. (Yay, hygienic!) And you can see how much is left.
Anyways, I went back to Sephora and asked for a sample of the same foundation in 25 Beige and we shall see how that turns out! (I really like the foundation, I just hope it doesn't turn orange on me!! >_< I'll give an update. ) For now, I use my concealer as a foundation and concentrate it only on my cheeks (where my acne scars are) and blend it out using a stippling brush. (It also means I use a lot of the concealer, haha)
I'm not discouraging people to try this out since this is only my opinion of the product from my experience with it. If you're looking for an inexpensive foundation with good coverage, wouldn't mind the smell (and hopefully wouldn't turn orange on your skin) then I recommend this foundation for you.
If I could rate this out of 10, it will be a 8.5

Sephora and Ulta Shopping
Today after class I went to Sephora and Ulta to buy some make up I'm interested in. :)
I'll post reviews about them after I try them for a week.
Here's what I bought from Sephora: (The SA was really helpful! She answered my questions and helped me find things I could use for my acne-prone, oily skin. I didn't buy any of them yet. I'm on a tight budget. I will get them someday!)
1. Nars Illuminator in Orgasm- I got this as a 100-point perk. Free.
2. Urban Decay All Nighter Make up Setting Spray- This is the smaller size. 9 USD.
3. Sephora Perfecting Cover Foundation- Sand 30. 22 USD.
And here's what I got at ulta: (sorry its sideways)
1. Revlon Lash Fantasy- Blackest Black. 8.99 USD
2. Revlon Lipstick- in Nude Attitude (001) and Certainly Red (740). 6.99 USD each.
I feel guilty about buying these. But what can I do? I love make-up :)
That's it for today. I'll look forward to trying all of these out!
